ALI MAHMUD
Ali Mahmud's first release "Pop Rocket" was released on Dutch mega label
High Contrast. The track has already received support from Markus
Schulz on his world wide radio show "Global DJ Broadcast", and the track
has also received praises from Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, and many
others. He later released 3 more tracks on High Contrast; "Angle Eyes",
"Cala", and "The Animal Within" all reached similar heights as "Pop
Rocket", and receiving support from Mr. Pit, M.I.K.E., Lee Haslam, and
more.
Ali released his first Progressive House track named "Wishful Thinking" on Arrival Recordings. "Wishful Thinking" shows Ali's ability to venture in to different genres. "Wishful Thinking" has gained wide recognition from Progressive house, and Trance dj's. The track has received support from Solarstone, Alexey Sonar, Jacob Henry, Aeron Aether, and many more.
Producing is not the only thing Ali has tackled. For the past 3 years, Ali Mahmud has been one of the fastest raising talents in the New York City area, with his hard hitting, emotional, and uplifting sounds. Influenced by some of the world’s biggest DJs, like Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren, Paul Oakenfold, Marco V, Sander Van Doorn, and Carl Cox, He has created a unique sound that is not only evident in his productions, but also in his live sets. Ali seamlessly blends Trance, House, Techno, Minimal, and other EDM genres to deliver sets that fans have considered to be a story that takes you on a journey that you don’t want to return from.
Ali Mahmud burst on to the scene in Philadelphia in 2008. He opened up for Jon O’Bir, Activa, and Tom Colontonio. He also played on the same bill as Kaskade. Quickly establishing himself in Philadelphia, with gigs in the cities top venues, he than grew to other cities. Opening up for John O’Callaghan at the House of Blues in Atlantic City, which was another achievement for Ali.
In 2009, Ali Mahmud than reached another milestone by breaking into the scene of his hometown, New York City. Opening up for Stoneface & Terminal, Mike Koglin, Ali Wilson, and Adam Sheridan and also playing on the same bill as Markus Schulz, Paul Oakenfold, Mark Knight, M.I.K.E., Giuseppe Ottaviani, and Ronski Speed. Ali is rapidly becoming one of the city’s top DJs, by playing at some top venues, like Pacha, Cielo, LOVE, and Webster Hall.
Ali Mahmud continues to push himself as a DJ and Producer, and is one to keep an eye out for in the future.
